BURN TIPS

Taking the best care of your candles

01

The first burn is the most important.

Always burn your candle for at least 3-4 hours to allow the melt pool to reach all edges of the candle. This avoids a ‘tunnel’ effect running down the centre of your candle.

02

Remove the tip of the wick in between each burn.

Sometimes a small flowering shape might appear, this is completely normal. Due to the natural nature of our candles, we advise that you gently remove the small petals that may have formed rather than trimming the length of the wick. Natural wax doesn’t get as hot as it’s synthetic counterparts, therefore the wick and flame should never get too big and produce a lot of smoke.

03

Avoid placing your candle in a draughty area whilst lit.

A common mistake is windowsills and open windows. This will cause the flame to consume the wax at a faster rate, meaning your candle won’t burn for as long as intended.

04

Don’t burn for longer than 4-5 hours at a time, this could cause the glass to get hot.

05

Try to avoid blowing out your candle.

This will cause more smoke than necessary and will affect the beautiful scent that’s diffused throughout your room. Invest in a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame gently. This will also coat the wick in a fresh layer of wax, prepping it perfectly for the next light.
